I spoke with my doctor during my pregnancy and inquired about pros and cons of circumcision, and decided that it didn't really seem like a necessary procedure; now my son is just shy of seven months and I've had some male family members and friends express some concern. I've heard of three incidents of people close to me that have had tearing/ripping of their foreskin in their teenage/early adult years and have had to have surgeries. They have mentioned (hopefully jokingly) that my son will come to resent me if something like that were to happen to him. Our little one is 13 weeks. My hubby and I decided to not circumcise our LO. But I am finding myself often wondering if I made a bad choice. I have not talked to my husband about it as I feel he is set in his choice. Any other Mom's choose to not circumcise? Anyone do a late circumcision? I am worried it's too late.

Hi, not sure if anyone else has been through this but my 5 month boy old has a very tight foreskin, and my Dr says he might need a circumcision if we can't get it to stretch a lot. I am applying a steroid cream the Dr prescribed daily for now, I would like to get a second opinion on the whole thing because the Dr said it should be wide enough to retract and that doesn't sound right. Also it doesn't seem to bother him at all and he has no issues peeing. Anyways I'd love if someone could refer me to a specialist of some sort who could help me with this in town, or share any experience you have! Thanks so much
In the first several years your son's foreskin will separate from the tip of the penis. Some foreskins separate soon after birth or even before birth, but this is rare. (via HealthyChildren.org)
